Debating, therefore comparing their ideas, naturally leads to cultural growth, but why consider it as art? It is an art because it requires skills that you can learn throughout your life. You can`t paint a portrait of Mona Lisa alone without learning to paint. You have to practice your painting skills and then you can create a masterpiece. In the debate, it is the same thing. It is a continuous process. You need to learn the skills of debating, training with other people, and then you can gain the ability and confidence to speak in public or convince other people. Without learning and practicing these skills, you are not able to become a good speaker. In ancient Greece and Rome, public speaking in the community was highly valued. I do not see why it should not be the same in our time.
It`s time to get back to the idea that disagreements are okay. Being loud, respectful and open to the opinions of others makes this region a better region 8. un desacuerdo honesto es a menudo una buena señal de progreso. Honest disagreements are often a good sign of progress. It often happens that some people do not express their opinions, which differ from those already presented, because they are shy or not comfortable speaking in public. Do you think this workshop will help these people? My workshop is exactly for this kind of people. They shouldn`t be afraid to step out of their comfort zone. We will do special exercises where participants can gain their self-confidence to speak in front of the audience.
(2) How do we create an environment in which people can “honestly oppose”? (I think of this issue more in the context of the workplace than less in politics.) The thing is, if that happens, you leave some of your mind in it, which means you get stuck in that amount of time, just waiting for something. In the world we live in today, people who disagree are often assaulted or fired, especially on social media. The truth is that our great country built its unity in part on disagreements and the dialogue that followed. AEGEEan: The phrase “constructive disagreement” may sound a bit like an oxymoron, and people tend to feel attacked and remain closed in their position when others have different opinions, so how can disagreements be constructive?
